Medical Scam in Ratlam – Man escapes from ICU after hospital falsely claims he is in a coma to extract money from his family.
In Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam, one of the most shocking fraud cases within the medical field emerged when a patient allegedly got into the ICU of a private hospital and escaped to reveal the scam turns public. The incident was in the spotlight when it caught viewers’ attention with the viral video of a patient emerging onto the streets still wearing his hospital garb with a nasal cannula attached to his nose. This revelation and dramatic escape have caused public outrage, with many calling to action for an investigation into the fraudulent operations of the hospital.
How the Fraud Unraveled
The reports have been that the patient was brought to Geeta Devi Hospital, where the hospital employees convinced the wife into false information about the husband being critically injured just to rob her of money. The woman heard her husband required immediate treatment and that a lot of money had to be shelled out for his recovery.

Before long, the hospital demanded ₹50,000 as the man was apparently serious and treatment had to be done immediately.
The hospital staff told the wife this and she was convinced enough to collect money and deposit ₹50,000 in the hospital.
Later, she was told that husband’s condition had further worsened, and now he was in a coma.
Now the hospital says that they need ₹1 lakh more, suggesting that the cost of treating the patient is much higher.
The Dramatic Escape of the Ceased Patient
However, the shocking twist here is that the patient was never in a coma-the man had been locked in the ICU against his will. When he realized that he was deceived, he somehow escaped and ran on the streets in his shorts and hospital gear, with a nasal oxygen tube attached.
Once out in the street, he would expose publicly the fraudulent scheme of the hospital, how he had been held against his will while his wife continued to be manipulated with more money.

Following the viral spread of the video, the public demanded a thorough investigation into this matter. Voices have now been raised for strong action to be taken against the hospital and its staff for doing what is by all counts fraud and illegal conversion of a patient into their hands.
