Since the release of the movie, Veer Pahariya, who has made his Bollywood debut in Sky Force, is trending. The young actor, who shared screen space with Akshay Kumar, is being discussed on the social media for reasons like his privileged background and for his viral dance moves in the song Rang. In an open chat with ABP Entertainment LIVE, Veer talked about the goading, memes in response to those, and gave his take on it all.
Veer Pahariya on Being Trolled for Privilege
The session began as a conversation around Veer being belittled for more privilege than others with respect to his debate about his upbringing in a privileged setting. Welcome to the club; he is one among many who have been labeled ‘nepo kid’ on social media, as if some accepted the fact that they have the right to question his rights to be in the industry. So, what would he say? Gevel could respond to this pretty straightly:
“Main kya kar sakta hun? Mera saubhagya hai ki main aise parivaar mein janam liya. Mera sapna hamesha yahi raha hai ki mujhe kalakaar banna hai. Toh ab unhe khush karne ke liye kya karun? Apne aap ko maar doon aur phirse janam loon?”
(Translation: “What can I do? It’s my good fortune that I was born into such a family. My dream has always been to become an artist. So, what should I do now to make them happy? Should I kill myself and be reborn?”)
The actor emphasized that the only thing within his control is his hard work and dedication. He explained,
“All I can do is put in my best effort and work with sincerity so that people eventually believe I deserve to be in this industry. I try not to focus on negativity. Maybe those who are spreading hate haven’t watched the film yet. If I haven’t won their hearts with this movie, I will with my next. My goal is to turn this hate into love.”

One of the eye-openers with Sky Force has been a dance step from the song Rang, the rhythm of which has gone viral on social media. Fans swamped the internet with memes comparing Veer’s step to “backbenchers demonstrating Earth’s movement around the sun.”
However, the actor took it in stride and shared behind-the-scenes snippets.
According to him, the dance was shot over three and a half days; he adds that the viral clip is from the last take. For added detail, he stated that he has flat feet and the step was extremely painful.
“Since I have flat feet, I had to balance my entire weight on one leg for the step. By the time we filmed the take that went viral, it was my 12th or 13th attempt, and I was in severe pain. I never expected this move to become an internet sensation.”
About Sky Force and Its Box Office Success
Sky Force is all set to roar once again in Kollywood as the action drama, directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and co-directed by Sandeep Kewlani, is based on India’s first-ever airstrike: the 1965 Sargodha airbase attack during the Indo-Pak war. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur in the key roles.
Although reactions online about Sky Force are mixed, it nevertheless has become a box-office success and a mere eight days after its release collected ₹104 crores, according to the makers. Veer Pahariya remains undeterred by the criticism and memes, telling himself that his work will speak through the movies he will do in the future.
