Mainpuri Hospital: Pravesh Kumari, an aged sixty-year-old woman, experienced a heart attack where she went untreated for almost fifteen minutes in the emergency ward of Mainpuri District Hospital, thus dying. The family of the patient accused doctor Adarsh Sengar, who was on duty, of being negligent as he appeared to be watching videos on his mobile phone rather than convening.
Doctor Allegedly Nonchalant about Repeated Appeals
On Tuesday afternoon, Kumari was brought to the hospital by her relatives. But, rather than examining their patient himself, Dr. Sengar reportedly gave directions to a nurse to handle the patient. This he did while his patient suffocated and her relatives tearfully called him multiple times to attend to her as he was engrossed in his phone watching reels.
The situation deteriorated, and finally, her son, Guru Sharan Singh, rushed to the doctor together with Kumari’s brothers, pleading with him to do something. They panicked when Kumari began to cough blood. Unfortunately, she died on a stretcher after waiting for care.
Doctor Slaps Deceased Son; CCTV Footage Goes Viral
After his mother died, Singh and his brothers confronted Dr. Sengar, which led to an argument and an alleged slap on the doctor’s part. The incident sparked a ruckus in the hospital, which brought the police into the situation.
Since then, CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on social media, thus evoking anger among many people. It supposedly shows the doctor seated at his desk, engrossed in his phone when nurses attended to a seriously ill patient. It further confirmed the moment he slapped the deceased persons’ son.

Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. Madan Lal confirmed that inquiry has been instituted against the incident. “Strict action will be taken against those who are found guilty. Senior officials have also been informed and appropriate steps will follow,” he says.
The viral video has added fuel to the fire of public fury over suspicions that would burn serious accountability and medical negligence in government hospitals.
