The whole scandal around India’s Got Latent hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina has just escalated with even more furor from audiences or any public figures. The most recent person to comment on the issue is none other than legendary composer AR Rahman, who decided to throw in a subtle yet sharp comment during a public event.

The man ended up in Mumbai for the grand music launch of Chhaava, where he shared the screen with Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna. While at this event, Kaushal asked Rahman to express his music in three emojis, to which the composer grinned, “The one with the mouth closed.” He added with a smirk, “I think we’ve all seen what happens when the mouth opens.” It was perceived as an obvious reference to the controversy surrounding India’s Got Latent and left the audience, Kaushal too, in stitches. In response, Kaushal quipped, “Talk about roasting!”
Samay Raina Deletes India’s Got Latent Episodes
Meanwhile, comedian Samay Raina has decided to take a step away from the controversy. He announced in an official statement released on February 12, 2025, that he had removed every episode of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel as fallout from the growing backlash.
He shared a statement that reads:
“Everything happening has been overwhelming for me. I have removed all India’s Got Latent videos from my channel. My only intention was to entertain and make people laugh. I will fully cooperate with the authorities to ensure a fair investigation. Thanks.”
It has come following widespread ire directed against the show for scanty mention of a co-host Ranveer Allahbadia inappropriately asking questions.

Ranveer Allahbadia flashed, “Would you rather watch your parents have s every day or join them to finish it once and for all?” on an on-screen contestant on the show.
The offensive nature of the question led to widespread criticism on social media prompting Ranveer to issue a public apology. Although he hasn’t yet taken down the episodes himself his statement acknowledged the mistake.
NCW Takes Action
The National Commission for Women has summoned Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, and others involved in the show for questioning due to the row. The commission takes issue with the sexist and inappropriate content that is aired on India’s Got Latent and has vowed to take action.
While the outrage might continue, it will be interesting to see how the creators of the show handle the controversy moving forward.
