In a video message posted on all his social media platforms, Ranveer Allahbadia expressed deep regret on his words, stating that he never intended to hurt or offend anybody’s sentiments.
“Here, I am apologizing for the statements that I made on India’s Got Latent. I never intended to insult anyone or hurt anyone. Looking back, I realize that maybe what I said deemed inappropriate-” it might have also been interpreted as directed toward me. I take full responsibility for it and deeply regret any offense taken,” he stated.
Allahbadia also mentioned he was still in respectful awe before women and showed much appreciation for how statements are made in the public arena regarding oneself as an influencer with a huge crowd following. He assured his audience he would be more responsible with his words in the future and reiterated that he didn’t mean to engender or perpetrate any form of disrespectful behavior.
Backlash and Legal Complaint
The controversy began when a clip from India’s Got Latent went viral, with The YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Samay Raina, and social media influencer Apoorwa Makhija passing comments that some consider derogatory and offensive against women. Public outrage followed, and a complaint was filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, demanding strict action against those involved.

- Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis weighed in on the matter, stating that while freedom of speech is indeed a prime right, it should not in any way violate the dignity of others.
- Rekha Sharma, the former NCW Chief, expressed her dejection, demanding strict action to send a message to influencers and content creators.
- Shiv Sena spokesperson Raju Wagamare went on to say that such language would not be tolerated in Maharashtra. He demanded the immediate ending of the show if this behavior continues.

Despite the apology, further legal actions would be pursued as authorities are still studying the complaint.
