Reports say that Logan Paul had been blocked by the Egyptian authorities from entering the country, thereby halting his presence beside YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, popularly called MrBeast, on a recent road trip to the Great Pyramids of Giza.
MrBeast AKA Logan Paul had earlier collaborated with the Egypt Film Commission for his new video documenting the newly acquired site and invited Paul to join in that venture. Nevertheless, in his latest vlog, the WWE superstar disclosed that Egyptian authorities specifically prohibited his joining.
In recounting the incident, Paul explained:
Logan Paul claims that he has been banned from Egypt by the Egyptian Government.
“Mr Beast uploaded a new video exploring the Pyramids and I love the Pyramids so I was like ‘Jimmy can I come?’ He’s like, ‘for sure’. And then a week later he called me, ‘unfortunately the Egyptian… pic.twitter.com/82eO7berMU

“MrBeast just uploaded a new video exploring the pyramids or something. And I love the pyramids. So I was like, ‘Jimmy, can I come?’ And he was like, ‘For sure, dude.’ Then a week later, he called me and said, ‘Dude, unfortunately, the Egyptian government said that you can’t come; otherwise, we can’t come.’
“And I was like, ‘Wait, what? I know I pissed people off at the Egyptian government, but I’ve never even been to Egypt. Why can’t I come to the pyramids, Jimmy?’ He said, ‘I don’t know; the government specifically said you are the only person that cannot come on this trip.’”
While news reports didn’t elaborate, Paul has his history of being asked to either leave, or decided himself not to go to places attached by controversy. Most recently was the backlash following his trip to Japan when he filmed and posted a video of a suicide victim in Aokigahara forest. The backlash was so intense that YouTube put him on a period of demonetization.
There was speculation he was actually banned; however, Paul later clarified that he was never banned from Japan in an interview with WWE star Dominik Mysterio, saying if he returned to the country he would rather be invited back than just show his face.
This latest announcement from Paul acts like a thousand matches in fuelling questions of his character and past, with fans and detractors engaging in a debate as to whether Egypt’s decision was merited. MrBeast’s video, meanwhile, continues its ascent around the world, showing the pyramids to millions.
