His agent, Kim Barry of Jaffrey Management, also expressed her sorrow, stating:

“Today I lost not only a client in Simon Fisher-Becker but a close personal friend of 15 years.”

Fans and colleagues alike have been sharing their condolences and memories of the actor. One fan wrote: “His stage routine was one of the funniest things I’ve heard in ages. A dear man who valued his audiences. RIP Simon, shine on.” Another added: “Really sad news. I met him at a con a few years ago, and he was truly lovely.”

Best known for playing the jovial Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), Fisher-Becker brought charm to the role of the Hufflepuff House ghost. While ghosts had a reduced presence in the films compared to J.K. Rowling’s books, his performance left a lasting impression.

In Doctor Who, he portrayed Dorium Maldovar, the enigmatic, blue-skinned black market dealer who played a key role during Matt Smith’s tenure as the Doctor. His character became a fan favorite, particularly for his involvement in major storylines and his delivery of unforgettable lines.
