British rock band Coldplay announced that they will add a third concert in Mumbai on January 21, 2025, due to the overwhelming demand for tickets for their “Music Of The Spheres World Tour 2025.” This decision came after fans encountered technical difficulties and long virtual queues on the online ticket platform BookMyShow.
Ticket Sales and Initial Technical Issues
The ticket sales for the first two shows, scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2025, at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium, went live at noon on BookMyShow. However, due to the high demand, the website and app experienced technical issues, which led to a temporary server crash. BookMyShow quickly implemented a queueing system to handle the demand and promptly resolve problems caused by suspicious and malicious traffic.
Third Show Announced
In light of the overwhelming interest, Coldplay has announced that an extra performance at DY Patil Stadium on January 21, 2025, has been scheduled. Tickets for the supplementary show were available at 2 pm on BookMyShow. According to the information on BookMyShow’s website, tickets for all three shows are now completely sold out.
Ticket Prices and Availability
The concert ticket prices range from ₹2,500 to ₹12,500, with a special lounge area ticket priced at ₹35,000. To allow more fans to attend the concert, Coldplay will offer a limited number of ‘Infinity Tickets’ priced at Euro 20 (approximately ₹2,000) per ticket. These tickets will be available for purchase starting November 22, 2024.
