American Express recently unveiled the revamped premium Platinum Card in India with exciting new benefits and partnerships. This refresh aims to enhance the value of card members and address concerns about renewal and retention.

Renewal Benefit: INR 35,000 Vouchers

As part of the revamp, American Express has introduced a formal renewal benefit to incentivize cardmembers to retain their Platinum Card. Members who spend INR 20 lakhs on the card during the prior membership year can choose vouchers worth INR 35,000 from renowned establishments such as Taj Hotels, Reliance Brands Limited (Luxe Gift Card), and Postcard Hotels & Resorts. This renewal benefit adds an estimated 1.75% value to members who meet the spending threshold.

Complimentary Memberships: Times Prime Ace

American Express has collaborated with Times Prime to offer a meticulously curated membership pack, providing various benefits across shopping, travel, and health and wellness. Cardmembers will gain access to a range of offerings, including Ajio Luxe, Uber, Starbucks, TUMI, Kaya Skin Clinic, as well as OTT subscriptions (Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Lite, etc.), publications (The Wall Street Journal, etc.), and exclusive discounts and offers. Upon activation, the Times Prime Ace membership will remain valid until May 15, 2025, and offers a comprehensive set of benefits such as Disney Hotstar, SonyLiv Premium, Discovery+, Lionsgate, Amazon Prime Lite, Curiosity, Wall Street Journal+ MINT, CondeNast India Digital subscriptions, TOI+ subscription, Cricbuzz subscription, as well as subscriptions to Netmeds, PharmEasy, and Healthkart, along with 12-month subscriptions to Geetanjali Salons Prive membership and Lenskart Gold.

New Hotel Memberships

In addition to the renewal benefit and complimentary memberships, American Express has added three complimentary hotel memberships to the Platinum Card offering. These include Accor Plus Traveller Tier (worth INR 11,800), Hilton Honors Gold membership, and Marriott Bonvoy Gold membership. These memberships have many benefits, including up to 50% off dining, member rates, and exclusive offers.

Changes and Enhancements

The revamped Platinum Card aims to increase value to card members by addressing concerns about renewal and retention. Notably, American Express has removed the ITC Club Culinaire partnership and replaced it with the Accor Plus Traveller membership while enhancing benefits and partnerships.
